Die WM der Saison 21 wurde in Ecuador ausgerichtet. Gespielt wurde in acht Vierergruppen. Jedes Team bekam 6 Tore auf das Torkonto, eine Teilung in Heim- und Auswärtstorkonto gab es nicht. Die jeweils Erst- und Zweitplatzierten zogen ins Achtelfinale ein. Die Erstplatzierten bekamen hierbei 5 Tore auf ihr Torkonto gutgeschrieben, die Zweitplatzierten 4 Tore. Das Überstehen des Viertelfinales brachte erneut eine Gutschrift von 4 Toren auf die Torkonten der verbleibenden Teilnehmer.

Das Bewerbungsschreiben

Frankreich ist eine große Nation beim BMO. Fast jede große Nation kam schon mal in den Genuss, bei einem großen Turnier Gastgeber zu sein. Zudem fanden die letzten beiden Weltmeisterschaften nicht in Europa statt (Saison 15 in Algerien, Saison 17 in Japan). Deshalb wird es mal wieder Zeit, dass eine WM auf europäischen Boden stattfindet. Was evtl. auch noch für Frankreich positiv anzumerken ist, ist die Tatsache, dass es für einige Stars das letzte große Turnier sein wird, da im Französischen Team überwiegend ältere Spieler vorhanden sind. Zudem wäre es eine Chance für Manager sykeflo, nach 8 Saisons in Frankreich, sich noch mal mit einer tollen Ausrichtung der WM und evtl. mit dem Titel, als Vereinstrainer zu verabschieden.
