Lincoln City im Real Life
Im wirklichen Leben heißt der Verein Lincoln City Football Club aus der gleichnamigen Stadt Lincoln. Gegründet wurde der Verein im Jahr 1884 und spielt zur Zeit in der League 2 (dritthöchste Spielklasse). Lincoln spielt seit 1895 im Stadion Sincil Bank, das von den Fans "The Bank" genannt wird. Die beste Platzierung der Vereinsgeschichte war der fünfte Platz im Jahr 1902 in der Division 2 (damals zweithöchste Spielklasse). Danach gab es noch drei Meisterschaften in der dritthöchsten Spielklasse (Third Division) in der Jahren 1932, 1948 und 1952 sowie eine Meisterschaft in der Fourth Division 1976. Dabei wurde ein Rekord im englischen Vereinsfußball aufgestellt: 74 Punkte innerhalb einer Saison. Seit 2003 hat sich Lincoln vier Mal für die Aufstiegs-Playoffs qualifiziert, aber alle vier Mal scheiterte.
