Marc Overmars ist ein niederländischer Mittelfeldspieler der Stärke 10.

Für die holländische Nationalmannschaft hat er bislang 12 Spiele absolviert und dabei 3 Tore erzielt.

Overmars internationale Karriere begann in Leverkusen. Von dort ging es nach Spanien (Athletic Bilbao) und England (Leeds United). Bei Leeds wurde Overmars zum Top-Spieler der Stärke 10.

In der Saison 10 wechselte er dann von Leeds United zum FC Porto. Dort konnte er jedoch nicht an sein früheres Leistungsvermögen anschließen. Nach zwei Jahren ging er deshalb erneut in die deutsche Bundesliga, zum damaligen Meister Mainz (Saison 12).

Doch auch in Mainz hielt es ihn nicht lange. Schon zur Saison 13 wechselte er ein weiteres Mal, diesmal zurück nach Spanien zu Espanyol Barcelona. Dort war dann wieder der Marc Overmars zu sehen, wie man ihn von England kannte. Trotzdem suchte der Holländer schon bald wieder eine neue Herausforderung. Zum Beginn der Saison 15 unterschrieb er einen Vertrag beim Lokalrivalen FC Barcelona.
