Liedson ist ein portugiesischer Torwart der Stärke 8. Sein reales Vorbild ist Brasilianer und Mittelstürmer bei Sporting Lissabon.
Liedson ist im BMO-Universum ein Eigengewächs des FC Porto. Trotz einer zunächst kontinuierlichen Verbesserung seiner Spielstärke musste sich Liedson mit einem Platz auf der Bank begnügen. Hinter Stefan Wessels und Ricardo Almeida war er lange Zeit nur die Nummer 3 im Tor des FC Porto. So kam er in den Saisons 14 bis 17 auch nur zu einigen wenigen Einsätzen in der SuperLiga. Um etwas Spielpraxis zu sammeln, wurde Liedson hin und wieder sogar bei den Amateuren eingesetzt. Weil der 38-jährige Stefan Wessels häufiger wegen Verletzung ausfiel und Ricardo Almeida leihweise bei Apollo Athen im Tor stand, kamen in Saison 18 ein paar Einsätze mehr hinzu, eine allzu souveränen Eindruck machte er dabei aber meist nicht. Umso überraschender war es deshalb, als Trainer Nicola Caccia Liedson in Saison 19 zum Stammkeeper machte. Und richtig schlecht kann er seine Sache nicht gemacht haben, denn der FC Porto wurde in dieser Saison portugiesischer Meister. Doch genauso überraschend, wie er seinen Stammplatz zwischen den Pfosten errungen hatte, so schnell wurde er ihn wieder los. In Saison 20 holte der FC Porto den 35-jährigen portugiesischen Nationaltorhüter Vitor Silva Oliveria für ein Jahr an die Rio Douro. Liedson wurde dafür für ein Jahr an den englischen Klub Aston Villa ausgeliehen und sammelte dort so viel Spielpraxis wie nie zuvor in einem Jahr. Zur Saison 21 kehrte er aber zu seinem Heimatverein zurück.
